Step 1: Upload Your ACT! Database Backup

Upload your database backup to begin the migration process. Our engine will validate and prepare your data.

Before you upload: Create your ACT! backup without attachments for this evaluation step. Attachments can be added later after you review your migration results and agree to proceed. This keeps the evaluation file small and fast to upload.
  1. Log in to your ACT! CRM account at myact.com.
  2. Click your name / avatar in the top-right corner and choose Database Settings.
  3. Select the Backup tab.
  4. Click Create Backup. Choose "Database only (no attachments)" when prompted.
  5. Wait for the backup to generate (usually under a minute), then click Download.
  6. You will receive a .zip file — that is the file to upload here.

If you do not see a Backup tab, your plan may require administrator access. Ask your ACT! account admin to perform this step.

  1. Open the ACT! desktop application.
  2. Go to File → Back Up → Database…
  3. In the backup dialog, uncheck "Include attachments" — this keeps the file small.
  4. Choose a save location and click OK.
  5. ACT! will create a .zip file in your chosen folder.
  6. Upload that .zip file here.

If you use ACT! Premium for Web (self-hosted), ask your IT administrator to perform a server-side backup and provide the resulting .zip or .bak file.
